Default Texas Speed Per. VS Mast Motorsports

Doing research for my LS3 and I have narrowed it down to Texas Performance 416 CID and Mast Motorsports 416CID. Does anyone have first hand knowledge on the companies and or the engines from the companies. Anything on customer service, warranty information, anything like that. Or other suggestion. Thanks guys!!

I've had good luck with my Texas Speed PRC Heads. Customer Service was good. Talk to Aaron.

Really it all comes down to your budget and the parts that go into it. A 416 with callies crank, callies rods and diamond pistons is going to be the same at either company for example. I would go with whoever you feel comfortable with putting it together

I probably should have said this earlier but even though Mast makes some great heads, TSP heads are damn good for the money! If you have money to burn then great, go with Mast, Trickflow, etc...but if not (like most of us) then consider a place like Texas Speed. That's just my opinion

I know that Shafiroff Racing Engines builds all the MAST engines. They do a lot of big block Chevy engines.

I always thought MAST build their own motors. How do you know this?

I THINK Mast engine use 4032 Mahl pistons. BLACKLABEL engines now use DIAMOND pistons.

I didn't know, but I do know that the labor/machining costs for building these engines has gotten ridiculously high.

I have a couple thousand miles on my TSP 416 LS3 and so far I love it. Great power and no leaks or issues. They were super slow and missed the completion date by a lot but when I finally got it it seemed well done.

Give us a call when you get time & we can discuss a shortblock for you. Nobody in the country does the level of machining that TSP offers for the LS engines. With the TSP CNC Engine Block machining center we are able to digitize the block & cnc machine the block to blue print specs!!
