5.3 build

I have a 2004 5.3 chevy engine idk the exact info of the engine but i was just curious wat do i need to do to handle 600RWHP with a HX35 turbo running on 8-13 PSI help me

That turbo is a tad bit small, but it will make 600 while choking the engine, look out for exhaust gaskets.

Y choke it

It will try to choke it as this particular turbo is a long time enemy of your engine.

In all reality what he's saying is that turbo it rather small. It will produce peak efficiency at a low to mid range the the powerband and it will not let the engine flow enough at high rpm.

Agreed that turbo is a bit small for your goal. Are you trying to achieve 600rwhp through a manual or auto car....makes a difference.

Many ways to skin this cat especially since many stock longblock 5.3s are getting to those numbers and beyond. I would say for a budget build: Cam, Springs, studs or headbolts, headgasket, 80 lbs injectors....etc.

One example, Denmah did a setup with a 5.3. VS Racing 7875, ls1 intake, LJMS cam, stock pcm, and 80E...results 540whp unlocked @ 17 psi with 12 deg timing.

Here is another 5.3 build of his: https://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-in...ped-ttype.html
