Pushing limits of factory 6.0 I mainly lurk in the carb section, but few people were interested so i'll post here. A few years back I built a super budget 6.0 for a drag car and it ran 10.000@135.5 with 1.43 60ft in ~2700lb car. -6.0 alloy stock bottom end, with new bearings, fly-cut pistons 60/70 thou -double row timing chain, ls7 lifters -5364 rectangular heads, unported, but decked 100thou (11.9:1 comp), pac beehive springs, trunion upgrade -236/246 615/615 110 cam -vic jnr L92 with 2" spacers -950 (850) custom e85 carb (horsepower innovations) https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.n...357e22453b87d1 Got bored with that car and bought another roller, then started swapping everything over. Was going to just upgrade to slightly bigger hyd cam, but my engine buddy offered me a solid roller upgrade deal i couldn't refuse. We were extremely happy with factory bottom end and even the rectangle port heads, so we decided to really see how it will go. Head buddy of mine wanted to try some things with the factory head as well, after 3 mths i got them back recently. also decided to try the new ls3 super vic New part list -cam motion 256/265 706/706 106 solid roller -morel solid roller lifters -jesel mohawk 1.7 rockers -3/8 thick wall pushrods -mast cast rocker cover -hand ported ls3 super vic -hand ported 5364 rectangle heads (380cfm@800, ~400cfm@1" -stainless steel hollow inlet 2.165 and solid 1.6 exhaust -pac 1335 double valve springs -gz motorsports vac pump with a few tricks and more shaved off head compression will be high 12's, going to stick with my e85 carb. In the final stages of assembly and will be hitting the engine dyno soon. https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.n...5ec49b4e86d15b https://scontent-lax.xx.fbcdn.net/hp...26&oe=55B04B5D https://scontent-lax.xx.fbcdn.net/hp...f6&oe=55E57A8B https://scontent-lax.xx.fbcdn.net/hp...7f&oe=55B7E31E https://scontent-lax.xx.fbcdn.net/hp...44&oe=55B4F266 https://scontent-lax.xx.fbcdn.net/hp...72&oe=55AF3EA5 https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.n...afd4b5e7068faa |
Now that car car gives rise to a new class of ¼ miler, "pro sleeper". Port work looks clean. Looks like a good way to add about 200hp. |
