So 25 hp is worth $4000.oo. Now talk your way out this. Over a pair of heads he already has. Use COMMON SENSE.

Seen a pair of LS7 heads sell for 1100 bucks on here less than a month ago.
Call CBM I think they have 5 sets of LS7 heads for 1500 CNC machined by them.

Tusky is talking about OEM LS7 heads. You're talking about aftermarket castings. Duh.

The reason why I'm not is I don't wanna spend a stupid amount of $$ having a block resleeved for 11 cu in. If I was gonna do that I wouldn't have bought a new LS3 block

You not only paying for 11 cubic inches. 4.125 is the starting point for the darton sleeves and 4.125 is the bore to get the 427. However those sleeves can go up to 4.185 bore.....so there for you can come up with a 440 ci motor with the basic popular 4.000 stroker crank. And a darton resleeve block can take up to 1500 horsepower!! A stock aluminum block not go really have that bulletproof feature. A resleeved block weigh only 105 lbs by the way. We have the weight of a aluminum block and the toughness of a iron block. It's really like having your cake and eating it to.
Almost forgot to mention it not uncommon to see a guy with a resleeved block run a 4.125 stroke also. The darton sleeves are longer than the factory therefore keeping the piston up in the cylinder wall for better stability and reliability.
Now with a motor at 4.125 bore you can virtually have endless head options. You can run a basic 317 head to a big valve LS7 mast head

Now let's talk about the money part of the deal. Think about this for thought and compare for yourself.
~GM LSX block is 2500-2800 bucks from Jegs....weight is 230 lbs
~Darton dry sleeve block procedure is 1800-2000 max bucks ..... weight is 105 lbs
~RHS block..... let's not even go there cause we both know it's north of 4 grand.... cost is higher than a giraffe @$$
☆power adder combinations need to stay at 4.155 bore or less due to cylinder wall thickness and head gasket sealing off nice and tight.

Lucky for me I picked up a 5.3 aluminum block on Martin Luther King day for on 250 bucks and that block turns out to be the most rigidity GM block that can be resleeved I'm one happy camper.

I don't mean to speak for the OP, but I think he's only after the 427 because of the nostalgia/historical significance of that displacement.

Then again, 454 is a nice number too but I wouldn't try that on stock sleeves.
