Default First Ls based build with a couple quick questions.

Have been lurking for many years and finally have a project to utilize a Ls motor in. I'm working on a e36 bmw sedan and have a few questions on my road to getting this motor together.

So far I've got a ls2 short block, long tubes, a set of 243 heads, ls6 intake and throttle body with some 42# injectors.

Going to stay n/a with the build and cam only.

I'm stuck on picking a cam and have flipped back and forth between the tick ls2 polluter and btr ls2 stage 3/4 cams. Not sure if I'm stepping to deep into cam selection or if I need to dial it back a bit. Not sure if the ~620 lift is going to cause a sense of worry for ptv in stock form.

Also on head gasket selection. Do the two extra layers of the ls3 head gasket make any meaning difference over the ls2 gasket if both have the same compressed thickness of .051?

No reason to exceed .600 lift on stock 243 heads unless you plan on CNC porting them, there is no extra flow to be had up there IMO. These are big cams you have listed, so make sure your bumping the compression to compensate given that this is going to be a strictly NA build. What are your power goals?

So dialing it back down to something like a TSP 228r or Tick sns stage 2 with mild lobes would be a better choice? I've contemplated going with cometic 040 head gaskets to help with the compression and mill the heads a little if need be but that's where I was worried about ptv at that point with the flat top pistons.

Ideally I would like to be low to mid 400.
