766 Horsepower! - New Dart LS3 Head and Cam Motion LLR!

There is a new player on the block in LS3 square port cylinder heads. Dart's new Pro1 LS3 as cast heads just laid down 766 FWHP in initial testing on the Engine Dyno with a Cam Motion Low Lash Solid Roller.

The engine is an 11:1 440" Stroker that averaged over 730 HP from 5500 all the way to 8000 RPM. The heads have a 280cc intake port, 68cc chambers, 2.165 intake valve and a 1.600 exhaust valve. They flow 370 cfm on the intake side and 252 cfm on the exhaust side. The cam is a modest lift Low Lash Solid Roller with very modest spring pressures of #145 seat and #411 open.

Here is a dyno video:

There is still more testing happening right now, so these HP #s just might get bigger. We expect to have these heads available soon on the Cam Motion website.

Very nice. It would be interesting to see a variety of different LS3 heads on this setup to see how well they all fair.

Be interested to see a test with a real world intake like the FAST.

gnx7 06-24-2015 01:46 PM

They fail to mention how much that intake manifold is ;)

Impressive numbers for sure for modest compression.

I am glad they did not test these heads with a FAST intake. I think those long runner, plastic intakes homogenize the results of cylinder head tests. I think using an intake with shorter larger runners will let the heads show what they can really do.

A 370 CFM As-Cast cylinder head is pretty impressive. That is stronger than a lot of the flow data I have seen on LS7 heads. A lot of potential there.

Most "normal" guys don't use those kind of intakes.

I agree with all of this. Bet my 346 with my dart pro 1 catherdal with super Vic will make great numbers. But either way what cam motion posted is a well thought out combo and I dig it.

Very impressive numbers. And theres more in it? Wow!

Zmg00camaross 06-24-2015 06:20 PM

There's all ways more in it lol.

I would bet 90% of the guys on this site would be putting those heads on a motor that's in a 4th gen f body. Not gonna get a big ass intake in the engine bay.

Sure, why not,? all it takes is a little cutting of the cowl and a cowl hood.Lol;)

Zmg00camaross 06-24-2015 07:15 PM

My cowl is cut. Can fit whatever intake I want :)

You got yourself some heads?

MonmouthCtyLS7 06-25-2015 11:15 AM

Crazy numbers!

Hamrdown 06-25-2015 11:51 AM

It's good to see new heads on the market! But I will say, not to take away from the thread, that the 6-bolt PRC 260cc LS3 heads actually flow more with intake ports that are 20cc smaller. I would have liked to see Dart at least match that.

GEEZ! I just looked up and saw that the 370cfm was at .800 lift!
I'm pretty sure the PRC's make that at like .650 lift.
