05,06 gto engines vs 09 g8 engine Hi could someone list the differences between these two 6 litre engines, the g8 has dod but how is the hp for the gto around 400, and the g8 361, thanks.

I understand why the numbers look strange. The G8 L76 has the better flowing L92 heads however it also has a tiny cam. I think it has one the smallest (or THE smallest) LS cams ever offered because of the DOD lifter requirements. I believe a cam and a tune really wakes up the engine. If I had a choice In would take the G8 engine as long as I had the cash to put in a cam, lifters, and a couple other little things required to delete the DOD.

G8... The heads in the G8s are much better then the ls2 they have ls3 like intake ports consequently the intake manifold is much better than the ls2 as well.
A lot was done to slow them down looking into the throttle body itself will reveal how much more more was use to reduce part throttle performance therefore when their throttle body is properly ported will yield more power than any other t/b I ran across.
