Default Shaft Mounts for TFS 255 LS3 Heads

I'm wanting to run the T&D Shaft mounts, but given that the TFS heads use a little different valve spacing (12 degree and LS7 valves), are they any T&D shafts that would work?

I know they make a cathedral specific TFS head with an offset, but didn't know if the LS3 would work. If not, should I look at Crower?

Nevermind, Crower is the only one that stocks a shelf part. And their rockers look damn good.

It's more like $1300 if you find it in the right place. Which is about what the T&Ds run... but they are aluminum.

I'd prefer steel. It doesn't fatigue the same way. And with a solid roller setup, weight is less of an issue. Plus, I'll be running the Hollow-Stem REV valves in the TFS 255s.

Default Shaft mount LS3 rockers...

I have the GenX 255 ls3 heads and using T&D machine shaft mount rockers specific to these heads, I ordered mines with the lighting option which consists of line across the center about an 1/8 deep and prov 1/4 wide.

Been using T&D machine rockers for a while in several different LLSR engines without fail they are very sturdy and have several different options you can have if you call them.

Their racer service program is very good send back the kit and they inspect through and replace worn parts and ship it back to me for the cost of the parts plus shipping only.

Do you have a part number for the T&D rockers? They've always done well. But the new Crowers seem damn awesome too.

I bought the Crower SS shaft mounted for my LSX 427 with TFS 255s. They were pricey, but hopefully in the long run they were a good purchase. So far so good, about a dozen passes at the track and around 350 miles on the street and all seems well.

Those are great looking shaftmounts. I ended up with T&D's with a price I could not refuse from Kip at CamMotion.

416.

I keep waffling on the medium bore LS7s vs the LS3s. The TFS heads are essentially LS7 heads but with the less effective LS3 manifold. That's why I'm looking at all the options.

But those Crowers look damn good. I like the priority oiling. T&D has those as well at this price point.

TFS 260 is an LS7 based head. Have you looked at it? I built a 427 based on LS3 so I went with the 255s as I originally planned to reuse the intake and valve train. Of course in the end the build morphed and I ended up running a FAST intake and Yella Terra rockers. Ultimately could have gone LS7 based though with Mamo working everything I am not sure I really left anything on the table.

I'm wondering if the 260 will fit an LS3 bore?

And on the 4.070" bore, I don't know if there is anything different between the 255 and 260s. It comes down to the manifold.

260 requires a 4.1" bore so no go on the stock LS3 bore. It's also setup to work with LS7 based geometry, intake, pistons, etc.

Thats the problem, the LS3's maybe a little more reliable in the VT area but you pay for that with the restrictive intake. I'd contemplate a set of Dart or TFS LS3 heads but the intakes suck.
A friend put a Mamo ported FAST LS3 on his Mast headed LS3 and LOST power all across the board over a ported stocker

So what do you think is the best intake option for the LS3 heads? I know the FAST LS3 is a waste of money. I seen the Nelson Racing cross ram w/ dual 90 mm TBs they had on their 496 & it made 60 hp over a FAST 102 but I wonder how it would work on a 416? & if it fits under the cowl of a 4th gen?

I agree, the Crowers look fantastic and the heads are dang good for LS3's; Intake is the kicker on the LS3 setup as you know.

Boost does cure any Worry about intakes

Ultimate power, you'd have to go sheet metal, all the plastic intake limit power. The thing with the Nelson intake that you have to remember is that those gains were on a engine 80 ci bigger. The gains wouldn't be near as big on a 416 secondly, cost. The cost of that intake is likely more than a really nice set of LS7 heads and the intake or within a couple thousand of a super charger if they ever make it. The Vararam dual plenum intake is likely going to be the only game for the LS3

Another happy Crower customer. I used their shaft mount rockers as well as their axle-oiling lifters in my recent cam swap. Nice pieces...

Well, this puts me back to the Crawford Racing LS3 intake. I have the LS3 rails and the LS3-sized L92 Flex Fuel injectors. So that'll all work nicely. I'll just have to fab up something for the Cable-driven TB.

I'll just have to pick up a 92mm TB... even though I have both a NW and FAST 102 sitting here. Sigh.

What's funny (or sad) is the FAST w/102 is still down vs a Crawford LS3 with a 90mm... wtf FAST.

Actually, is the MSD Airforce ever coming out for the LS3? It might be the ticket...

The other option is the Holley Hi-Ram. But that would require hacking up the car to make it fit.
