Ls next build Anyone got recommendations on oiling setups on my ls next build 15:1 Comp solid roller dart ls next block Tunnel ram twin carbs Mellings oil pump for moroso wet sump Should this oil pump be ok in this combo Or should I go external wet pump or even dry sump Cheers |
What kind of RPM do you want to turn? I'm giessing it's a drag race application? |
It's occasional drag and events setup Max revs should be 7500-7600 if combo is right |
You can get away with a wet sump setup at that RPM. A Melling pump with a Moros pan would be a good combo, I've got the same going into my 440ci build. The Dart LSNext block has different oiling so you can probably use a 10295 and be okay depending on your clearances. |
Yeh I'm thinking wet sump should be ok I have an accumulator also The ls next block with the priority mains and stepped oil galleries should help I also have restricted pushrods |
I have a LS next 427 twin turbo. Turns 7500 using Moroso pan and 10296. You probably don't need a high volume oil pump because the ls next is so much better than its GM counterparts at oil usage. I used a high-volume because I also feed 2 turbos and an oil cooler. Hope this helps. |
Cheers mate I'm thinking high pressure std volume |
Does anyone have any pictures of the oil filter location and feed line for turbo on the ls next blocks? |
I went with a Dailey Dry Sump on my build and got 15.5" of Vacuum as well. That said if using an internal pump I would have it ported to reduce/prevent cavitation, 7500 RPM is pushing that design envelope IMO. |
