Default PRC 237s on a stock LS2

The plan was using them on a 402, but my budget became very limited so I wonder if these heads would be fine on a stock LS2 with a PG cam (223/237 @115lsa), I know I should have went with 227s instead, but my original plan was getting a 402 rotating kit which I have to delay it for another year or so. Now these 237s have a slightly larger intake valves (2.10 vs 2.06), is there any physical interference because of that? and if they fit fine, am I loosing too much horse power or drivability?

Keep in mind the PRC heads are 13.5* heads.

That is better, as it angles the valves in order to increase piston to valve clearance. So you should be absolutely fine. People get away with 2.165" valves in LS3 heads on stock LS2 shortblocks all the time.

So my million dollar question is, well I be seeing some power increase if I put them on my stock LS2 or well they be too much for it and loose all the buttom end torque of the engine?

They will still fit on your stock LS2. The downside is they have a larger combustion chamber and will drop you roughly around half a point in compression. But overall they will still make more power than your stock heads by about 30-35 rwhp even with the compression drop.

Compared to the 227s, how much HPs do you think I'm losing?

In the neighborhood of 12-15rwhp across the board.

I just double-checked with TSP (where I bought my custom grind cam), and it seems I can mill the heads .030 to re-gain my lost CR without worrying about P/V clearance, so I will head to my local machine-shop to get them done.

Thanks!

Please call and ask for me. You cannot mill .030 off of the 237's and still clear on a stock piston LS2. The valves are too large and will make contact. Maybe they thought you were talking about the 402 you were wanting to build. I will send you a PM as well hoping this gets to you asap.
