Default Valve springs for .600+ lift cam

I'm interested in hearing opinions on good valve spring choices for a cam with .620 lift. Most I've talked to already recommend a dual spring. Anyone using a beehive spring with a high lift cam with success? Granted I realize that with beehives you lose the safety net of a dual spring but are any holding up with success. Thanks for any advice or suggestions

Well......you really should be looking at a good double spring set.

BUT.......if you MUST go with a beehive spring, the ones that are rated in the .625" range is pretty risky way to go.

I would go with the COMP Cams 26095-16 spring set. These springs are rated to above .700" with a spring pressure rate that won't destroy a good hydrualic roller cam.

I'm not hung up on beehives but I know they've come a long way but downside is no safety net with them.

What lobes? What valves? What rockers?

Those make a big difference in the springs you should use.

Always see what the cam grinder suggests. He knows his lobes better than anybody.

What is the combo? PSI makes some sick beehives!

I personally run PSI1515MLs on mine with .661lift and 7300RPMs and will be moving to PSI1516ML with my new cam.

Check 'em out!
