Default Anybody running a Tick sns stage 3 cam with milled heads?

Im building a 6.0 and purchased the ls1 Sns stage 3, with 235/243 111+2

Wondering how much i can shave off my heads (if any) in order to bump the CR to around 11.1 or more

I was told by tick that .005 or .010 (should) work, but it hasnt been tested and that their polluter....239/244 had .050 valve clearance. Not sure if that was the 111 or 112 lsa polluter

I dont want to flycut either.

Thanks

Flycutting is easy.

I recently cut .075" of the heads of our LS3 and cut .100" recesses in the pistons.

I dont want to flycut because I might run nitrous.

I also dont want to buy a $200 tool.

I just want a small compression bump by milling .005 or .010 if possible.

It should be about 10.9 now....if I got to 11.1 I would be happy.

I'm also wondering what kind of street manners this cam has in an ls2 with all supporting mods.

How is the low speed torque and midrange with a 6 speed with 3.42 gears? Should i upgrade to a 3.73 or a 3.92?

Ive seen dyno results in an ls1, but does anybody have ls2 dyno results with the sns 3? Im trying to get at least 485 rwhp. Thanks

I don't have the answer to all of your questions but I do have a similar setup that I just got running this last weekend.

I put the BTR stage III in a 6.0 LQ9 with 243 heads (basically an LS2) that are milled .020 with LS9 gaskets. My measured P2v at the closest point in rotation is E= .076 I= .067. I was concerned that this was too close but both the guy who ported and milled my heads and BTR said that this should be fine and that the cam would benefit from the bump in compression. Mind you this didn't come from Bryan himself but one of the people in his shop. To be clear I think a lot of people would say this is too close but I REALLY didn't want to flycut either.

(BTW I copied the above from another post I made answering this question so my apologies to anyone who thinks it looks familiar.)

I think that you will be hard pressed to make 485 to the tire. I am shooting for about 450 and even that i think might be a stretch. I too am going to start with the 3.42's but I think it would be better suited for a shorter gear like a 3.73. I plan to swap one in with an 8.8 pretty soon.
