What's my static compression ratio

Hey guys I need a second opinion here. I've got a LS7 stock bore with a 4.125 stroker crank and wiseco-2.8cc pistons. I need to know approximately where I'll be static compression wise with 51cc chamber LS7 heads with stock .051 compressed thickness head gaskets. I'm calculating around 14.5 to 1...?

Wiseco k462x125 are the exact pistons

Whoa! That calculator put me at 16:1

Sales2@Texas-speed Jan 6, 2017 04:03 PM

Based on your numbers you are going to be at about 15:1. If you are getting around 16:1 you are might be adding the 2.8 as a dome in the calculator

So here's my next question then, at 15 to 1 would I still be able to get away with running e85? Or would I be safer going to e100 or leaded race gas?

the late model dirt track guys around here use e85 and 16.5 to 1

but they blend their own since the quality and alcohol content really varies at the (very few) pumps here

I'd imagine in nebraska you could get proper e85

Bus Fuel = E-95

Hi Benny, I would buy some E-100 and add a %5 mix of low grade race gas (108L).
I would get the Squish to .035", good for Scotch.

What is your "local" cost of E-100 ?

Realize that alcohol has an affinity for water. Not that I've ever done it but you cannot go to a liquor store and buy 200 proof ethanol, or pure alcohol and it's labeled that way. The warmer the temperature the more water in the air and the worse this problem gets. What I'm saying is that the second you expose alcohol to air it begins sucking it in. I would figure that in the summer it's difficult to keep alcohol any purer than 95%. If you live in a cold climate you might be able to keep meth or ethanol 98% pure if you try. I'm a retired chemistry teacher, not a racer. I just wondered if you guys knew that and took it into consideration.

E85 pumps around here are plentiful and I can get good prices on e100 in 55gallon drums

Bus Fuel = E-95

Hi "teacher", I too agree though some here need our help !

My "take", NASCAR the MOST successful racing organization of all times was "formed" BY "E" sales.
Then there where the Kennedys, (again boot-leggers) both whom "stuped" Maryln, she ended up dead, then again the "Ed" that "lost" his car in a river with his child who was "unborn" is his GF's belly ?

This is why I like Bus Fuel (E-95), Henry Ford RIP.

My question was the cost of drum E-98 in your area, I may want to BUY some ?
