Extracting the most performance from my AFR 230 cyl heads?
I currently have a set of AFR 230 73cc heads that I am planning on putting on my LS2 block.
I was originally considering running a turbo, but after some thought, I am simply going to stick with NA, so these cylinder heads will need to be milled down to obtain the proper compression ratio.
What would be the ideal compression ratio to try and aim for while still running pump gas (91 oct)? The bottom end will be relatively stock.
Would this largely be dependent upon the tuner as well, if they are able to work with a higher compression engine? If so, any recommendations on who to work with?
Thanks.

Right cam an excellent tune. If building from the block up contact
Dustin Lee @ DLRE he built my Engine with Tony's Heads & Intake.
What are you putting this in?

Thanks for the info. I'll have to contact Tony then, since it seems like that'd be the person to talk to regarding working with the heads. It'll be going into a Porsche.

Don,
Would love to help....I used to tweak those heads all the time (aka "Mamofy" them....LOL).
Popular upgrade while I was doing that was installing a larger diameter lighter weight intake valve in it when I do the work (2.100 vs 2.080). That gives me a little more creative freedom in the bowl and valvejob as well
Best bet just shoot me an email...let me know you posted on LS1Tech etc.

Look forward to helping you out!

Tony
