What's the best 6.0 for a 70 caaro swap
Looking for a LS swap into my 1970 Camaro. I think I want to do a 6.0 but what's the best one to go with... L96, LY6, Lq4, Lq9, aluminum truck ls2 blcok ECT. I want a NA motor with a good sounding cam with good power using stock long block. Cam, intake, bolt ons, would be happy with 450+whp. With that said what's best!!!?

No one engine is better just more compression with one VS another. Intakes, cam, and front accessory drives differ. But in general the same engine. If anything the Aluminum block helps save weight off the the front end and can be re-sleeved(But so can the iron block 6.0's Cost More but you get the point). With any of these choices you'll mill the heads for More Compression & add the parts you listed. BTW have the heads Cnc'ed-Ported While you have them off that's Where all the Potential lies @. Cam & * FAST 102 intake does no good with trying to Breath thru a obstructed port.

L-92
My choice for a base engine is the L-92 2007+ as this one will cost MUCH less.
The Oil Pan will need replacement, the Holley pan is one I have fitted.
The Intake Manifold I would fit is the GMPP "spider" made by Wegner, the LS-3 port.
I would fit MY ECU-882C with VVT Advance/Retard feature for Cam Timing changes.
I would use a "long tube" exhaust.
Would you like my help ?

Truck engines are FAR more abundant than anything from a Camaro/Corvette, and therefore much less expensive. The money saved would then be spent on an LS6 manifold(or Dorman copy). The oil pan would be another issue, easily solved with a little more money.
