99TA - 416 build - Stolen, damaged and getting repaired
#181
Darin is a good guy, have dealt with him on something for a Custom head. Also called yesterday myself and asked about doing another Custom set of heads (for next summer). Told me that what I have is perfect for the size bore I have and the idea I had would run me 10k we both started laughing. Looking for a sponsor LOL.
The Black Mamba's are the bomb wish I could trade in my older roller-less Morels. Just a $200 difference if only they sold them when i got these other POS. LOL! BTW:99 Black Bird T/A I've heard numerous stories on those Isky lifters such as sizes not all matching such as 3 lifters being off by.0010. Just a little info.
Forgot to tell you that Mast has 11 degree 245 Cathedral Port heads for $900 each

I've mostly been away from they engine project for the last month because my dad had pace maker issues and has been in the hospital twice. He seems stable again so I hope to make some engine project progress in the coming month.
Updates:
Reher-Morrison said the heads were scheduled to ship Friday along with the rockers & cam. I hope to post pictures in a few days.
I've settled on a WS6 Store ported Fast LSXR for the intake & NW 102 TB with stock LS2 fuel rail. I'm ordering it this week as soon as the fuel injectors are settled.
Fuel system is Racetronix hot wired 255 Waldo set up.
Fuel injectors looks like: Fast 52# vs 57#?
Injector opinions?

So $450+ more justifies a shorter pulsewidth? Ive tuned plenty of vehicles with all the inj combos you could imagine and have seen very little difference in them. Now ebay injectors, yes they are trash, but the FAST are a nice piece and have good applications. If you arent spraying a waterhose at a single turnip you dont have to dial the pw down.

WS6 Store goodies have started arriving and the Reher-Morrison heads are almost here. I'm excited.
Today the Vengeance Racing / WS6 Store ported Fast LSXR LS3 intake arrived. I'm planning to get it flow tested with the heads just for fun. Will also test a stock LS3 intake for a baseline.

WS6 Store has been fantastic in helping with parts for this project. I have to call and order more stuff tomorrow
I think Kook's 1 7/8 headers with 3 inch Primary with air / EGR hook up will be my best choice with the stock k-member after talking with WS6 Store.
My car's Mufflex Y pipe is beat up, so I will probably get the Kook's 3 inch Y pipe to 3.5 with a 3.5 inch cut out and keep the old favorite SLP Dual / Dual catback instead of true duals.

I built a 416 a few years ago, GMPP LS3 heads, stock LS3 intake & Martin Smallwood cam its a beast! Just upgraded the pushrods to 3/8 recently felt like a nice gain! Gonna get it on the dyno soon! I've wore out a lot of cars with it, blower cars, cars on spray, Big Blocks, turbos lol! On the motor.

I plan to get the RM heads flowed on the same bench I used for my LS intakes trests in this thread.
https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...ast-lsxrt.html
I will also get flow numbers with stock LS3 intake and VR/WS6 Store ported Fast LS3 LSXR intake with NA 102 TB.
The RM LS3 heads were developed including wet flow bench testing in addition to dry bench testing. I feel good about the RM LS3 heads after a good discussion with Darin Morgan.
I plan to post pictures pictures soon.

From Reher-Morrison's website:
CNC LS3/LS7 Cylinder Heads
Reher-Morrison has taken our 39 years of induction system design experience and developed LS3-LS7 heads that out perform the rest. We don’t believe in a “one size fits all” CNC cylinder head. Reher-Morrison has developed different port designs tailored to specific engine combinations to give you more power through out the usable RPM range. We have LS3 intake ports ranging in size from 263cc to 280cc not to mention a wide variety of LS7 ports as well. Just because it says “CNC” does not mean it will perform at the highest level and the GM LS7 heads are a prime example. GMs LS7 heads are already CNC’d from the factory, yet after they have been CNC’d with the Reher Morrison ports the heads pick up 40-50hp! Don’t get stuck with an under performing cylinder head. Reher-Morrison has also developed packages to complement your CNC’d cylinder heads. These packages produce 50hp to 100hp gains in the LS3 engines and 80 to 150hp in the LS7 engines. All our cylinder heads are “purpose built” to assure you reliability, proper valve train stability and maximum performance. Call Reher-Morrison and get the right cylinder head for your LS engine!
LSIntPortFeatures:
• Purpose built to your needs (Not an off the shelf cylinder head)
• Raised port roof for better intake manifold alignment with milled heads
• Different port sizing to fit your specific engine combination
• Port designs that make top end power without sacrificing bottom end torque
• Each head is professionally hand blended to assure proper valve seat dimensions
• LS3 heads 25-35 Hp increases
• LS7 heads 45-50 Hp increases
• Raised port roof for better intake manifold alignment with milled heads
Dropping these off at a local shop for flow testing tomorrow.
