Default Oil pressure issues ls3.

Having some low oil pressure issues with my c6 Grandsport. When I start the car it stays at 4-6 for a sec then rises to 40. If I start the motor and pat the gas a little bit it rises immediately. Once warm oil pressure drops to 16psi. But while I’m driving it’s normal, around 35-40. Oil pressure raises to 50-60 high rpm. Oil filter is a Mobil one. It’s the correct one. Put a thicker oil in, no change in idle oil pressure when warm. Thinking it’s either a issue with the oil pump or cam bearings at this point. Any insight?

this is info from the factory sensor?

if you can verify with a mechanical gauge, do so.

Doing that today but I think it’s spot on, motor is a little noisy when it has low oil pressure.

If you cut open the oil filter and stretch out the filter element, you will be able to see if there's any metal from internal damage (pump, bearings, etc.). If there's no damage I would try draining the oil and inspect amen clean the oil lines and reservoir.

Before you do anything else try a new oil filter.

I agree. I also agree with cutting the filter open and seeing what's up.
