Stand Alone VVT Controller
Hi Jim, MY VVT Stand Alone Controller will operate the VVT Solenoid as requested AND with the Price of $200.00 USD.
There are OTHER ITEMS, the "limiters", crankshaft timing sprocket/chain, camshaft, VVT motor tool for Spring Reinstall.
The GUI is included with MAP/RPM/Position Objects and other features.
My Method is to Advance the Camshaft ONLY then as the RPM is increased, go to the stops, the limiters hard stop for the MAX Retard Position.
Lance, BTW any relation to Lee Mueller ?

I think the Titan 3 LS3 camshaft is exactly what you are looking for:

It will make your power goals, have the idle characteristic you like and drive excellent.
Use these lifters:

And these valve springs:

Let me know if you have any questions.

Are the lobes on that Titan 3 a fairly quiet design, easy on the valve train? I hate ticky engines, so I'm looking for all the pieces to be aimed at quiet/longevity.

im definitely no expert, but i like to help out and respond when i can input something worthwhile. while i know a lot of people run the ls7 lifters on "budget" setups, and many many have had good luck, i chose to go to the morel 5315s. stock style lifters were never made to handle an aggressive lobe. depending on the vendor they are anywhere from 189 to 225. still a budget lifter imo. about $12 a lifter.

That combination really interests me also. 5th gen Camaro SS 1LE, I do a lot of road course track days but want to keep real good street drivability.

Yes they are. Cam Motion is known for our smooth but powerful lobe designs. Another piece of the equation is a high quality lifter. Our premium lifters are manufactured by Johnson Lifter and are extremely fine units.

Going through this exact exercise with a buddy right now. His c5z was hydrolocked in flooding conditions :x
Getting an LS3 mostly covered by insurance. His focus is street use, with track and canyon use on the weekend.
We settled on 227/235 on 112+1. Very similar to what is discussed here. Maybe just a touch more aggressive. For a cam and header only LS3 we're expecting 460-475 whp in a c5z.
