Right on. I wonder if the new injectors spray a finer mist, which burns more completely.

Likely. That is what I guessed myself. But if you had told me swap injectors to tame a cam I would have called bullshit

So these “injectors” you speak of...tell us more. What injector were you running, and what kind of injector did lance sell you. Sounds to good to be true. Anybody else posting this, and I’d laugh, but I believe you, so I’m intrigued...

Dude if I had not posted it myself, I would have called bullshit, lol. The ones I pulled out were FIC 42's. The ones I put in are 60 lb injectors in SD housings but I think lance had them modified or something. There isn't much he does that is just off the shelf.

He sent a paper sheet with the injector data with the injectors. And the data was specific to the injectors in the box, not generic data -- didn't match anything like the SD 60s data I have seen posted anywhere else. Custom offsets and everything. I pulled the sheets from Jake fusion injector data thread to compare.

But I am quite serious about the improvement. I will try to compress the videos and post so you can hear the difference. I will even post both tunes so you can compare.

Some more updates and weirdness. I hit the oil pan as described above in earlier post, and this time it leaked a quart overnight, so I took her out of service to swap oil pans. Went to put stock F bomb pan on and kept running into interference. Enter improved racing...

Ordered a holley 302-1 retrofit pan from them with their oil control baffle kit. A couple of notes -- it will NOT fit a F car with stock steering, and it requires a ls3 dip stick. Then the "while I am in there" bug bit so I got a crank scrapeur and windage tray as well. Pretty much went in without a hitch. Directions said some file fitting may be necessary but mine cleared without filing.

Second, lance at Pantera hooked me up with some 60# injectors. And holy ****. I mean I never would have believed that an injector swap would tame a cam, but it did. I can drive 20 mph in fourth with no throttle and no bucking, and then dig right out of it. When I first started it it sounded tamer, and quieter. As it warmed up it improved. Another thing. The fuel smell was all but gone. So, I do not know what lance did to these injectors, but I would almost swear this thing could smog!

In all it took four weeks to get everything completed due to travel and other needs superceding the car when I was home.

Bottom line for this update -- so much more pleasant to drive with no sacrifices in power per the butt dyno and tractionometer.

i went from stock injectors in my gto to Siemens deka 60lb injectors and it idled noticeably better.

Below files are idle vids. I wish I had a better idle clip "before", but I was talking over the engine in most of them. i think though that you can hear how noticeably smoother it is on the 60's. The driveability vid shows fourth gear at 20 mph and no throttle without bucking all over the place. Reminder, cam is 247/255, so it's not like it's a baby cam. I attached the tune so you can see I didn't do anything special for holding the idle. Only difference between the two clips in the tune is the injector data.

I do not have a YouTube account. I can make one. Ls1tech is the only social media I do.

Edit -- I was not able to open the files on my phone, but i was on my laptop. interesting...

I can’t open the injector data. Car sounds like a different car now, and the 20mph video makes me jealous. What was injector duty cycle before and after? The 42’s seem a bit small to me for that power output. Either way absolutely amazing results.

Thanks!! The IDC on the 42's hit 105, which really means they went static. I did not get a full load pull on the new injectors, but should end up around 70-75%. I got it running. Let it run an hour the drove to the airport. And yeah that 20 mph thing was awesome. I was stunned.

If you did open the tune, you would see it was scaled 50% so the flow rates were half.

Very sorry to hear that. Any particular industry you are looking into?

Thanks.

I was looking at the local electric vehicle and/or aerospace companies here in So.Cal.

I'm about 200 miles north of you near Hanford. There is a new electric vehicle company called Faraday getting ready to go into production. You might check into them, but also check into whether they will stay in business for much longer.
I'm just giving a heads up.

ok, thanks for the heads-up, I'll exercise caution (I've already applied for 2 positions at their Gardena plant).
