I'd go with a bit more exhaust duration and less advance.

Would imagine Mod Speed Tigger should chime in soon
Max effort and street cam are like looking for a blonde AND a brunette
I agree with Darth with the 260-ish intake lobe. Guess some more info from you on transmission clutch/converter and intake/TB plus intended RPMs too

Car made great power as an LS2 with LS3 heads. North of 520whp if I recall.

Now he's decided to add cubes in efforts to destroy driveline components.

I had Mike Jones spec a cam for my last SBC. It made exactly the power he said it would and at the RPM I asked for. Great guy to deal with. I would trust his recommendations.

Just to throw something out there. I don't think it needs a tight lobe center, you have enough cubes to make torque down low.

I'll throw my un-educated guess out there for a MAX effort "street" car as something like this:

Intake - 265 @ .050" - .420" lobe lift (.756" w/ 1.8:1)
Exhaust - 278 @ .050" - .400" lobe lift (.720" w/ 1.8:1)
LSA - 114 +6
ICL - 108
ECL - 120

This would require different valve springs than those that come with the assembled head if you are buying them that way. Also, a set of good shaft rockers.

Looks good Cole. There’s a guy on Corvette forum who did a 454” build along with MMS 265’s recently. Tony spec’ed him a 264/276 on a 112. He made 685 at the tire, N/A of course. The 112 filled the cylinders a tad better.
Very streetable system in a C6Z.

I have not seen many LS7 cams that did not have
at least +12-14* Exhaust Split let alone "Max Effort"

Most LS engines, Gen IV in particular, need lots of help in the exhaust department, as the intake ports are HUGE and the exhaust ports are NOT. Therefore the exhaust duration should far exceed the intake duration.

Like the others have stated/indicated.....more exhaust duration. I would look at something from 274* to 278*.

114* LSA + 2* or 3*.

That said.....see what Cam Motion would recommend.

Default Ls-482 rhs

Hi ALL, I did not know there were SO MANY here with experience in the RHS block engine.

My RHS experience is in Off Road racing engines, a common build for a LS-482
My Experience is with shared "tech" from Wegner Automotive, the ones the TAUGHT COMP HOW the machine their RHS blocks.

I use a Calles 4.5" Crankshaft, Calles 6.350" Rods, Racetech Pistons

My engine has a MAX REV of 6500, with a 6200 Shift Point.

I run a 242/256 Cam of .600"/.560" on a 116 C/L
I too fit Crower Shaft rockers, Crower Cams cam.
This is a Dry Sump engine (pan) with External Three Stage Pump.

AGAIN, thanks Jake as you ARE SPOT ON !

The REASON is the CAM RPM TORQUE BAND must MATCH MAX Piston Speed.

What stroke will your crankshaft have ?

Problems found :

Oil pressure, my spec is an external pump.
You could fit a Crower Copper cam with Roller Bearings.

Pin Boss area INCREASE as the LS uses a "short" pin.
I have used a .990" pin in some, regardless ALL .180" + wall (M-350)
DLC Pin coating is a requirement.

Spark Advance VERY Low at 2500 RPM (18 degrees as common)

A 2" exhaust is fitted OR LARGER (required) Step Header

THUS, Last1 NO as to that cam spec 265/278

I would welcome you to call (949-250-1797) there is MUCH more to share.

ONE SUCH is that you will need to "sert" the short end bolt of the Crower cast steel Rocker mount OR the plate will break !

My daily driver mild cam for a 416 is 237/245 .625/.,625 114 LSA as spec'd by Darin Morgan. It has 8 degrees split so for max effort, I think at least 10 degrees split would be desired.

Best bet is to get an expert like Pantera EFI, Mike Jones or similar to custom spec a cam for you.
