Default Panicking. Please help me identify this piece...

First time through an engine rebuild. It's an LS7. However, the only internal part I've changed is the cam. I am not familiar with every internal part of the LS7. I'm desperate to determine whether or not this piece came from my engine.

I have the engine on a stand and the oil pan has been off the last couple of days. Today I found this piece sitting on the floor directly under the engine. I cleaned and vacuumed my shop a couple of days ago so I'm pretty sure this didn't come from any other source.

Obviously, before I proceed I need to determine without a doubt that this piece did not come from somewhere inside the engine.

Thanks for any help!!!

I'm no expert but I haven't seen anything like that in the engine I built. Anyone else care to enlighten us?

Looks like an inner race for a ball bearing. I doubt it's related to your build.
