I would read the BBB reviews. According to one customer's review the engine blew up after 23 laps and CNC left a message nasty message written on the windage tray. The other review is interesting too.

The return policy is 20%, you pay shipping both ways BUT apparently no returns on short blocks, engines or cranks.

Some CNC Motorsports stories and a couple of horror stories with the engines. 2010-2015

Doing a search on Yellow Bullet showed a lot of good review around ~ 2016
Parts buys good, the stuff I found engines pretty good.

Some of the stuff like cylinders didn't appear to be honed....probably 80% good & 20% bad

Time to ask..

Getting burned on an engine purchase is about as much fun as staring down the wrong end of a Magnum. I got burned once by Doug Herbert performance who was local to me. Burning $4500 in cash would have been more fun than dealing with DHP.

Best of luck with the new motors.

My impression & opinion based on a brief Internet search is CNC might be OK for simple parts.

No way I would buy a short block or engine or crank after what I read.
If you are local to CNC then you might be OK.
A lot of businesses do better taking care locally than someone a thousand miles or more away.

I the sort of person that's much happier to pay Lingenfelter Performance or Thompson Motorsports or Texas Speed or Reher - Morrison or Bischoff Engine Service or other good LS1TECH vendor a little more and not worry. All of the ones named have a good reputation.

Your right. It's not an LS7 4.125 bore w/4 inch stroke.

I guess my "new daily driver" an 02 Z28 will just have to keep chugging along with the original 242,000 mile LS1 for a while longer...

I have the LS3 427 from sdpc, it runs strong haven't had any problems with it.

How many miles? Any oil consumption? I would like to hear more details.

The oil consumption is about what my ls1 was not much. I have 9000 miles on it. I wouldn't worry about the 4.100 stroke they built plenty of them.

Thank you Cup, that's good to know.
Sounds like an excellent set up.

Im curious too on Cnc Motorsports

Jimbo1367 01-25-2020 04:50 AM

CNC MS sounds spotty. OP might want to look into Thompson MM. THEY Seam to have a good rep hear and real food customer service

JakeFusion 01-25-2020 09:36 PM

I got my rotating assembly from them balanced. Good prices. Everything seemed to check out.

I don't know if I would trust them to do a short block. But I don't trust many to do it...

Another vote for Thompson. They have a great warranty as well

Seems there is always someone who has an issue with one company or another. Scoggin Dickey has been around a long time.
