Default LS2 L76 only turns by hand Quarter turn

Hi guys My name is James
engine I'm working on 2007 Silverado lt L76 AFM and VVT 4X4 crewcab

problem: lost one of my lifters on bank one AFM

Fix I got delete kit for the AFM and A delete kit for the VVT so new cam new lifter new spring new seals new gaskets new gears new chain and timing chain cover and a 5 pin to 3 pin vvt plug and play.
Everything seemed to go smooth, but then it happened, put the new timing chain set the marks 6 and 12 easy set the oil pump ok went to adjust the valves and my engine turned over only a quarter of a turn??????
So I started to take every thing back off, Well I'm down to just the crank and pistons and the heads are on but no push rods cam spins fine but I removed it also and removed the oil pump and timing chain , still won't turn
I pulled the oil pan this morning, I see nothing used my borescope, I'm missing something ,I sorry if you don't understand me.

any help would be great
James

How are you adjusting the valves? Did you mean to say that you were checking pushrod length?

Long block with no pushrods and no FEAD belt should turn over pretty easy with the spark plugs REMOVED. You do have the plugs out, right? If it’s not turning over in that condition then I would say you have an internal bind. Especially with the cam and timing gear off. How was the failure you experienced? Was there metal shrapnel thrown into the engine or did you catch it early?

I think you know how that goes? we started to get a miss fire so I pulled the valve cover and I could see lifter was not working on bank one afm no damage to the cam as far as I can see. Never had this problem before. New to me. I thought maybe something fell though the valley pan. we had here in Arizona a dust devil go though the shop, some times they come really quick before you can close the bay doors. I do have one small bolt I can't seem to find??

Use your borescope and look at the cylinders through the spark plug holes. I bet you’ll find your missing bolt.

Double check the part number for the head gaskets. Didn’t at work one day and they sent 5.3 gaskets instead of ones for a 6.0 and the same thing happened.
