Trick Flow Genx 255 heads advice
The truck is running 10.30's now with 821 heads and I'm looking ahead to my winter upgrades and thinking of going to a set of Genx 255 heads from Tony Mamo. How much horsepower gain can I reasonably expect over my 821's?
My current cam is .629/.629 lift, 246/258 duration, 110 lobe sep. Will this cam still be ok with the Gen x heads or do I need to get something different?
Also, thinking of switching from 93 pump gas to E85. Any gains to be had on a N/A motor?

If I were you, I’d call Tony and ask these questions. He’s the man!

Tony just called me and he's a super nice guy. Right now it's a toss up between the Trick Flow 255 heads or the AFR Mongoose heads. Just gotta decide which is best for my set up. Also gonna grind me a new cam. Will be looking for high 9's come spring

Personally, I would take the AFR casting. Unless TFS also has thicker deck. Talk to Lance at Pantera. Said on his high end stuff he likes AFR castings best because they hold the most energy in the combustion chamber. That said, I do not think the TFS 255 is a bad product at all.

These castings have made great N/A power on multiple cubic inch LS combinations. RK Speed in Mission TX has a hand full of 408/416s with smaller chambers ranging 540whp to 649whp depending on the compression you have and supporting mods. The pro casting used to produce are similar to a MAST just different valve train geometry.
