Stroker block 419

Has anyone bought a block from Livernois? Just curious about their Powerstorm stuff. Quality? Reliability? Thinking of getting one of their 419's. Thoughts?

I've always had the impression they were near the top of the game as a tuner shop. I've read Livernois can do exceptional tuning and has a proprietary tuning software that they developed. However, for tweaks or changes its necessary to return to Livernois.

Finding specific details was a bit frustrating on their website when I had an interest in one of their short blocks. Did a little basic research on Livernois with a Google search on "Livernois engine review".

Decided to go with an 416 ERL short block when they were on sale as the business closed. Lingenfelter Performance Engineering was my other top contender at the time. Lingenfelter Performance would still at the top of my list.

Thanks Black Bird! I have read those reviews. Very concerning to say the least. Wish I knew who made their stuff...…. It is VERY hard to find anyone reviewing or saying anything about Livernois. They do, at least, a lot of tunes

Ok. I am down to the motor mounts and torque converter bolts. Old will be out by this weekend. Still undecided on the block. :(
Can I just zap the torque converter bolts off with an air compressor? That would be to easy probably, huh?

Where is the sale? I went to their site, and I don't see anything on sale.

Thanks for that. Unfortunately, I can't seem to get the 10 off. I added the stroker block and went to check out, buy nothing off :(

Just call and ask for Kyle. He's the owner and will hook you up. He's a great guy!

thompson 12-18-2018 10:51 AM

Give us a call. They are having trouble with the coding on the website so it will not let you check out with it. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you.
Thank you,
Kyle

Anybody know the difference of the Dart LSNEXT block, and a regular ls aluminum block?

Dart is iron and much stronger than a normal ls aluminum block. Aluminum is lighter by about 110lbs and is good up to 900rwhp imho depending on internals. What are your future goals?

ForceFedC5 12-18-2018 01:27 PM

Whoops. And the Dart block can use 4 or 6 bolt heads .LS only 4 bolt heads can be used

A "nice" street monster :)

I gotcha but the problem is that everyone's idea of enough hp is different. Any rwhp or et goals?

2010Imperial 12-18-2018 01:49 PM

My goals are more 0-60 or 0-100 lol. I am not going to chase numbers on a dyno for a street car. But I am thinking somewhere close to 6 or 700 will be good. If I need more than that, I will have to rethink things Ha

I'd recommend using a ls aluminum block a 5.3 would last forever at that up level with the right parts. Ask Kyle

2010Imperial 12-18-2018 02:04 PM

Anything should last in this car forever. I only drive it about 2,000 miles a year. LOL

thompson 12-18-2018 02:15 PM

For 700HP a stock block option is likely your best bet. There is really no need for anything aftermarket at that power level. Our forged piston and rod Iron 5.7 is $2899, the aluminum $3599. Both will do all you want and more with a rating of 800HP.
