New L92 project

Afternoon all.
I have a 2013 L92 out Silverado. VVT no AFM. Has about 24,000 miles on according to the salvage yard.
I deleted the VVT with the kit from Texas Speed. Added a Texas Speed cam, valve springs and push rods.
Added an LS2 timing chain and chain tensioner in lieu of the spring loaded type that cam in the L92.
So my question in regards to the oil pump. I pulled it apart with the intent of porting it and it looks like it has already been opened up from the factory. I hasn't been ground on or anything but the openings both on the infeed and discharge side are much bigger that the older LS1 oil pumps. It didn't have any visible wear so I shimmed the relief spring 30 thou and I put it back together then bolted it back on the engine.
Do you guys think there's any reason to replace it with say a Melling 10295 pump? Better flow thru the Melling?
It's just going to be a street engine. Don't even have anything to bolt it in yet.
