I'm running the TR6060 ZR1 spec transmission with the MH3 gear set. Originally, I was going to run some spray on my original build so I wanted the stronger 1st gear for torque capacity. I'm now a big stroker N/A which we are also expecting big torque numbers.
It all depends what what you goal or end game is..... 3.90's ended up being the better compromise for my setup, given I run 1/4, 1/2 and 1 mile competitions, as well and HPDE. I install shorter or taller diameter tires to adjust the final drive accordingly, based on the events I'm running. I would post the calculator I used to look at the results that helped me make my decision but the site is no longer available
I like 3.90s but i wouldn't want that long of a first and second gear.
For a straight up drag car, I'd agree......the 2.29 1st gear is rough on cars that don't make a huge amount of torque.
After 1st gear, everything else is close ratio.
Thanks for the link. Impressive, I have the sniper now but if I ever changed heads for bigger ports , I would look to this intake.then it could be port matched.
Skeered low pro's have about a 3in runner...ls7 i think, there's not to much difference. Go to the holley site, get to the intake wanted hit instructions, all lengths for all holley intake used for a particular intake. Hi ram instructions list :ls1-3-7 runner lengths. Same with the low pro.
