LS7 crankshaft oil plug depth

What is the correct install depth of the crankshaft oil plug in an LS7 crankshaft? I think mine has been knocked backwards.

For reference, my plug is 2.0" from the outer most part of the hub pilot, and 1.7" from the flywheel mounting face of the crankshaft.

From what I can tell, the plug just sees oil splash and the galley is not pressurized; so if the plug is seated firm and square then don't worry about it.

Qwk, are you talking about the glued in plug, in the center of the crank, behind the pilot bearing?
if so, you are correct. It does not see oil pressure, but needs to be sealed off for crankcase pressure. I don’t think there is a dedicated dimension depth for that plug. I’ve seen guys use just silicon to fill that hole...if I’m talking about the same plug you are referring to.

Yep, that's the plug. I didn't realize it was glued in place. What kind of glue do they use?

I don’t know what is used to seal that plug. RTV? Silicone? My Callies crank looks like clear silicone.
