Default LS2 Top End Ticking

Need some help, what do you guys think this might be? Car is cammed with single upgraded valve springs. Im leaning towards a lifter or maybe even a hidden exhaust leak. Most likely will pull cam and inspect lobes. Just looking for feedback. Thanks.

Has this always been happening or just start?

Has been running good with cam for about 1yr (5k miles) no abnormal noises. Just started ticking and stopped driving it.

Edit: also changed oil and checked extensively for exhaust leaks.

OK, is it a loud tick, or like a few thousandths lifter gap? If LOUD, I would suspect a collapsed lifter.

Once it warms up it gets louder and consistent. Not sure if you were able to see/hear video i linked in first post.

Ooof. Sounds like a lifter to me. That's fairly pronounced.

Cam with single springs... Did you change to hardened pushrods as well? Upgrade the trunions in the rockers?
It could be a bent PR, rocker trunion that **** the bed, a broken valve spring that's holding on for dear life... lot's of possibilities.

I'd pull the valve covers first, and I'd pull the heads before the cam. I'm leaning towards a collapsed lifter.

Installed hardened pushrods at the same time as cam install and kept stock rockers. When noise first appeared I swapped back to stock pushrods just to rule out bent pushrod, but noise remained.

As for rockers, some do move side to side, but no up and down movement (lifter direction).

Will pull heads and inspect lifters, then decide what to order. Might as well upgrade rockers and purchase new pushrods.

As far as rockers, just put a good trunnion bushing upgrade in yours or new stock rockers.
Not sure you need new pushrods. Roll yours on a pane of glass for straightness. If they roll smooth, you're good to go!

I had that exact issue once when my LS2 only had a cam upgrade.
It was loud lifter tick.
I changed from mobil 1 5 w30 and used a penrite HPR 20w 60 oil and the noise went away completely.
However months later, the lifters were malfunctioning and one of the cam lobes was rubbing on the block a bit.
I got it just in time.
It's best you get your valvetrain apart and inspect it.
I will never do a cam upgrade unless I change the springs, pushrods, rockers and lifters to ensure everything is tight and strong,

I had quite a noisy lifter in my LS1. Swapped to LS7 lifters and that solved that issue. From what I've read, the LS7 lifters have a larger oil hole than the LS1 lifters.
