Deduction of the valve stem?

The .98 is the valve seat inner diameter, in relation to the valve size. The id of the seat (which is the smallest point of entry here) must be a smidge smaller than the valve, or the valve wouldn’t have anything to sit on. So valve size x .98 x pi x lift

Chevelle,

It was derived from the Wallace Racing Discharge Coefficient Calculator. Unlike the other calculators on that site, it was poorly labeled, and I assumed the area mentioned was curtain area. My bad.

Either way, the logic remains, even if the numbers change. I want the cylinder wall to interfere with the curtain area as little as possible. Obviously, this also has a point of diminishing returns...

You do still need a big enough intake valve/CSA to support your bore/stroke/rpms.

I appreciate it. I would always rather stand corrected, rather than continue to wander lost. I definitely don't want to be spreading misinformation.

That discussion on valve curtain is one reason I like an all bore 388 over an all stroke 383. The 3.9 bore limits your valve size via shrouding.

Bigger bore, bigger valve, bigger curtain, less shrouding. But you need rpm to take advantage of the port. Or you run smaller heads to get air speed up like hammer with his 388 ran the mast med bore ls3 heads. STILL likes rpm quite a lot

Well this was back in the day. The cam was poorly specced out as a 233/276 duration on a 107 LSA. And those ZR1 wheels are heavy as hell. I know because i own some of the same wheels.

Got with Zach, said he wanted Everything....... well if you ask ...Zach said he wants Shawn Hooper a instructor @ Samtech too flow them and look them over...

Darth .....mill them B's to get as much as possible! 260/272 so 13+ ...Gotta get another crank 4 the spare block & RY heads with 8k...Speak with the best u r told, the best info. Compstar center counter weights ...$700 and those dome tops...that's another topic.

It's looking good in the hood! My idea with a Nos setup under the TB was discussed also, it's 4 E85 not nos and we can adjust the amount of fuel with Nos jet changes. Injectors supply 90 - 95% ...trick it 2 think its a Carb. Every idea was discussed this evening and Zach being @ SAM has tried all my ideas or thoughts. (Zach, Andrew & myself talked till 10pm from around 8ish. Told Zach who all i got ideas and info from...Zach stated you've talked 2 the gods of this industry & he's a past emc Winner) Zach said i can have it & u bought some great stuff. I cut a tunnel / crossover for the rear lifter holes on the bac of the block...Zach said i'll mill it 4 u.....(Steve @ RED said he'd do it but to ship a iron block to Cali for a $75 cnc program, Not! This was discussed yrs ago) You want your Name Paco anywhere, block, valve covers etc... I asked 4 a ford oval blue colored block.
We're thinking a Snappy lil B to 7500. I'd rather F with Rowdy, but i got everything 4 the ls3 set up so...F' it.

That spec would only work out in the top end.
It would rev it's **** off but be flat as a dog down low and in the mid range too.
The IVO is 13 vs EVC 28 even at 4 degrees advance
No thanks

What engine is this and what would be the intended use?
