Vengeance Racing Annihilator cam in ls3?

Changing my set up in a month or so from Trickflow 255s to try a set of the Frankenstein f310s. Changing cams in the process and was wondering if anyone has ever used the Annihilator cam in a ls3 or is this more of a ls7 cam?

The annihilator camshaft is more like a max effort LS3.
However it may not fit on a 239 intake duration with LS3 heads.
This is more suitable for a 400+ stroker engine or an LS7.
With 19 degrees of overlap it would not drive well in an LS3 if it would fit.
You would need more compression but you won't be able to mill your heads unless you change your pistons otherwise you won't have enough PTV clearance.
Not sure about those Frankenstein heads though.
Tell us your combo

Just a stock ls3 other than the heads and cam. Those Frankenstein heads have 10 degree valves I knew it wouldn't work with stock ls3 heads but wasnt sure about those ones. Probably just gonna go with the kaotik

What are the specs of that katoik cam you are looking at?

I worked out the specs.
It's a good spec for an ls3.
IVC point and EVO point is good for power everywhere except it may fall short a bit in the top end.
What is your goal with this build?

andy-lswon 06-07-2019 11:06 AM

It's an auto car so I'm hoping to put down around 500ish to the tires

bortous 06-07-2019 11:11 AM

Ok. I think you will get close to that power figure with such a camshaft size.
Having higher compression will also help.
It's almost identical to my last cam 236/244 114 LSA. But this was in a stroker engine.
I made 505rwhp with it.
I reckon it should rev to 6500rpm without an issue.
Make sure it's installed 3 degrees advanced on a 110 ICL

Current set up made 478 with the trickflow 255s and 232/244 cam. I was honestly disappointed thinking the trickflows would make more

Were the TFS heads cathedrals?

No they are their ls3 rectangular casting

bortous 06-07-2019 11:26 AM

Oh really?
You should've just stayed with your stock heads and cnc ported them.
The stock heads are already really good.

What chassis are you working with?

Are you running dished pistons? The annihilator would be a little big for this setup running a stock piston. I would recommend taking a look at our Kaotik Cam if you are still running stock pistons. Here is a link to our Kaotik:

I would probably use Brian Tooley's 233/250 113 LSA +5 camshaft.
Will not hit pistons with unmilled heads and you should get 500rwhp+

lazerlemonta 06-18-2019 06:46 AM

What intake are you going to use?
