Default Drop in Piston and Rods

Has anyone tried dropping in a set of piston and rods in a ls1 5.3 or 6.0 without getting it all balanced.
I have heard some talk that the summit pro ls pieces would drop right in.
I pulled all the weights and the piston and rods weights are very very close tot he stock stuff.
Anyone tried this with success or failure?

I researched this forever, looking for a drop in set for my ls3. Summit suggested I have it balanced running their Pro LS stuff. And after talking with CP, most aftermarket forged aluminum pistons weight much less than stock slugs. Not sure if the same applies to ls1, 5.3, or 6.0

It would depend on the cylinders wall size and if the pistons weight the same. I would say it’s a crap shoot

Because its much easier than dealing with a machine shop.
Last time i tried to have machine shop do anything i was told 4 weeks my stuff sat there for 6 weeks and still no one had touched it so i went and picked it up.

Unless your best friends with the shops around here you don't get anything done.

Being able to have a set of drop in pistons and rods for a fairly cheap motor would be fantastic.
600-800 dollar motor and 100 for rods and pistons isn't bad.

however when you add machining in there your looking at quite a bit more if you can even get them to touch your stuff.
