Hey, if you want the REALLY BIG one, try the zebra dick cam.
My daughter says it hangs all the way down to the ground and drags. Looks like it would hurt him to run, or even walk more than a few steps, when he's in the moment.

Here’s a great thread from our own Speedtigger from 7 years ago. Pay attention to who posted there. It’s a “who’s who” of builders. The problem with amateurs poorly attempting to spec cams on this site, and giving out bad advice, has been here for many, many years. It’s a big reason why a lot of pro builders went away. Stinks really. Anyhoo, give this thread a read. It’s pretty good...

And I agree that making it a sticky would be very worthwhile. But close it. Nothing much to add to it.

I was texting another member here yesterday and I told him I should make it a sticky. Probably will. It would be epic to get those guys back here but all the BS around here ran them off.

Buddy of mine thats helps with me my car from time to time has a 18 degree headed 406ci SBC and its no joke. I love LS motors as well but a SBC is bad MF as well when built correctly.

The 400 sb had all the potential in the world. Great bore and stroke. All you had to do to ruin it was build it with an Oldsmobile block

Good point Hio,...but
Murder nova once said..."Id rather lose a race peddling, than just get driven right around!"
Most guys prolly rather face traction n suspension issues than lack of hp no fun issues. Cuz in the end, hp has a funny way of making a man feel all warm n fuzzy inside. Insert Tim Allen Grunting here

**** hp....it means next to nothing. Ask op....lol
It's all about tq.
Rkupon1.....losing is still losing. No one is gonna win them all. There seems to be more factors to acceleration than the just engine.

Depends on your nature im guessing. If your competative, sure, win with less is defly a huge **** you to other guy. Shows what you know and can do. Im more of the smiles per gallon kinda guy these days. I like seeing those custom vega wagons or the like with 1300hp blown bbc that are completely useless. Just totally custom and rad-mobile cars. Theres that aspect of the industry too, just straight up customized cars with some personality. They dont always make sense or are purpose built. 2" out of my 3" thick receipt binder for my build is all not needed.
Sorry I got way off topic for cam talk,...
I ve yet to meet a single person in this hobby who liked/agreed with my cam specs from my builder. It seems to me, theres more personality involved than the actual science of specing cams...

I have no use for totally rad mobiles then. I like functional stuff that i can actually drive that's reliable and not a complete pos that requires more maintenance than drive time.
Smiles per mile ftw.
I agree....back to cam specs. Where's bort when you need him.

That's where utilizing a already powerful engine comes into play.
not really......gm did a pretty good job figuring that out for overall performance. You can make the engine run differently with different cams. But there is always a tradeoff.
Making the car accelerate is very interesting tho.
