This car deserves the whole Faircloth Composites catalog. It would be a featherweight.

Wish I could afford it right now. I was offered a hood, hatch with lexan, and doors for a stupid price.. Just couldn't swing it.

Valve train is all back together. There was only one that ended up tight tight. So we shall see what happens when I get the manifold back and car fired up. I did forget to measure the install height on the valve springs, lol. But i think Cesar has that information. Motor spins without interference, so that's a plus.

Missed that one.

As of now, I think I'm done with the weight reduction stuff. Everything is will cost some serious money now. I don't want to cut the car up and it being aluminum frame, it's really not worth it. Not much weight to lose there.

Over the weekend, I decided to slap the Hi Ram back on it, with the plenum spacer. Went to go fire up the car and it wouldn't start. Didn't have any compression, lol. So, popped the VCs back off and backed off the adjusters a smidge and got it to fire up. Let it idle a bit and took it around the block. Made a file change and something happened with the ECU and it wouldn't fire back up. Getting a weird TPS issue. Messed with that all Tuesday and could not get it going. So, I am just going to leave the car parked until I get the lower manifold back from Cesar.

Ended up finally selling the Hi Ram today. Along with the Shrear lid and NW 120 TB. I ordered up (2) 4500 Accufab 4 barrel throttle bodies and got the dual carb lid from Holley, delivered today.

Things are about to get real rowdy.

Sick! I've thought a lot about a low ram with dual quads on top ever since Holley launched it.

Like this MAST setup, but short lol

If you, me, 02Z, and RKupon all have dual tb,'s, are we considered a gang? Did we really make it not special anymore? Lol, Hmmm

Yeah, I'm excited about it. This should definitely push it over the 800whp mark. I looked at those Wilson TBs. They flow a little more than the Accufabs but they are also an extra $400ish each.

Been reading up on air pans. From what I've come across, most have picked up about a .10th and 2-3mph with an optimal setup. I believe this is because its not pulling in a ton of hot air in the burnout and while staging. So it's picking up in the short track pulling in cooler air and once the car is moving, the affect is less.

So for the type of primary racing I do, I'm already moving around 50-60mph. I don't think a pan would benefit me as much. What I do plan to do is to keep the big carbon intake and just kind of aim it towards the tops of the TBs and let it funnel cool air under the hood.

My only worry with this setup is that the runner length is going to be too short and cause the engine to peak way over 8000, maybe even passed 8500. I'm crossing fingers peak happens near 8000 and carries some. My cam isn't "that" big. But going to have to see what happens when we get there. I do have ideas on how to add some length to the runners if needed.

When the whole Hi Ram movement started in the C6 world (I was a big contributor to that), I made some Hi Ram Mafia shirts. Maybe I'll make some Dual Quad Mafia shirts, LOL.

Strokers can't turn over 6000 rpm guys

I think you're right about the carb tray. One interesting thing...and it'll be hard to do, but if you can make a big sealed plenum you'll actually get a slight boost effect when you floor it from 60mph. This is how the road race guys make more power with the tiny restrictors in their intake tracts - they have a huge plenum that fills with pressurized air during braking, and then you crack the throttle and the engine gets a shot of fresh high density air without restriction.

They used ITB's but just imagine a box over the top of your carb tray, fed from your existing air duct in the front.

Now, you won't have restrictors obviously, but if you can create a sealed box above your throttle bodies you can definitely get a quick boost going to WOT that could help you jump out hard on the hit.

Beyond that reasoning, I think the airflow under your hood will be plenty cool and you won't need to seal it off.

In our ~6.30-6.40 drag car, sealing the carb tray to the cowl hood was worth ~.04 in the 1/8 mile, but that was no doubt just keeping the engine from sucking hot air on the hit.

I've thought of making some kind of box. Maybe one day. I'd want it to look clean and that will be the hardest part

Going to have to see where the current intake lands compared to the new hood and the intake setup with the throttle bodies. I don't think it will be a big deal coming up with a sealed box to grab the air from the current tube.
