Modifying a LS2 TB for a F-body
Hey Guys,
I was wondering if it would be possible to modify a LS2 drive by wire throttle body to make it a cable driven unit so it could be used on a F-body conversion. I don't have a throttle body in my hands so I really have no Idea if this would be possible. It would be nice as I read that a drive by wire TB for the 05 SSR's is only around $160-$180. Sorry if this is a stupid suggestion but paying $450-500 for the fast unit is a real PITA.
Thanks in advance,
Dave

The biggest downside is that I don't think there's a provision for the idle air control motor (IAC) on the drive-by-wire throttle bodies (it's controlled by the stepper motor / blade movement with the PCM). You *can* run without an IAC motor, but it's not recommended.
It could probably be made to work, but unless you have your own machine shop, it probably won't be cost / time effective. Kris @ SDPC has pretty good prices on the FAST TB.
