Default Has anyone actually dynoed a LS2 402 stroker yet?

Has anyone actually dynoed a LS2 402 stroker yet? I have ordered mine from ARE and I'm curious as to whether 480-520 RWHP is unrealistic

I will have:
-ARE stage 3 5.3 heads with 2.055 in 1.57 ex opened up to 4.0 bore
-not sure of cam yet 240-250 .610-.630ish
-Pro Magnum rockers
-LSX 78 w/ ported TB
-Racetronics pump
-SVO 30# may need bigger
-QTP 1 3/4 to catted Y to Magnaflow
-Moser 12 bolt 3.73 33 spline
-steel DS
-spec 3 in a M6
-likely MSD coil packs

What do you think?

I have seen 408's in the 500 + range.

Thanks in advance,
Rampant

There are the APE 408 and SLP 402 reviews on my webpage @ www.avigdor.net ... another way to calculate your results will be take mine and yours will be a little bit slower

Just playing with ya!

You should pick up about .5-.75 in the 1/4... mid to low 11's... this is where we both should be... then take off another .75 for my 150HP wet kit... mid 10's here I come!!!

Have you made a definite plan on your car or cars?

I'll have to see if I can maintain my 60ft advantage

I think that it comes from my extra 60lbs over the rear axle. Though I'm trying to get rid of at least 30 or more by spring. And 2" of the waist New Years

We have built a mild one. It made 580 at the flywheel.

Wow,580 thats impressive Kurt for a mild LS2 402..When do u think you'll be getting alum 7.0 blocks so we can build say a 414 or 418 LS2 w/a good rod ratio/piston speed?

Have not seen the 7.0 block in person yet. That engine will probably be over a year before we see them turning up.

I have one going together here now. I should have some numbers for you by end on January. It will be a mild street motor with a small cam and AFR 205 heads. Customer wants a "torque monstor".

Yes I did mean ARE. I also did look into APE and heard good and bad about them as well. I wanted to look at all my local options.

I was one of the first new customers for ARE's new management last year. I recieved nothing but great customer service. As for a real LS2 I have already seen it first hand. They did great work on my head and cam package last year, it made good numbers and was very reliable.

Anyway this was not about vendors but what kind of results have been seen so far for this new set up.

580fwhp certainly would suggest that 480-500rwhp in a conservative setup may be possible.

427 what cam did you use and what bolt ons? If you had an earlier thread could you point me to it please.

Thanks again

It was a engine we built to do some dyno testing to come up with a C6 package. It had headers and a Donaldson filter for bolt ons.
There was no "thread" about it.
It had a low (800) rpm idle that was very steady.

This is the engine I'm waiting for. A 7.0L engine would be the cats meow in open road racing that's for sure. hopefully they won't be too terrribly expensive ....... yeah right

I am a old customer of ARE and have not one bad thing to say about them, I brought my H&C combo from them 3yrs. ago and have had no problems.....but I also know a person who drove there twin turbo car to canada to have it tuned and had nothing but problems, he ended up selling his twin turbo kit cause he never got it running right. The guy he sold it to got harlen to tune tha car and now the thing is just insane. So,I have heard good and bad.
