Default LS9 Block

I had a question today on the availability of the 6.2R LS9 block part # 12621983. I talked to both GMPP and GM Partech and that block will not be available for a while. From what I was told, GM is still waiting for somebody to buy the contract to manufacture them. Therefore it could be 2 months or 2 years.

There is a new style LS3 block that has some different casting and machined radius's etc that was touted for the 5th Gen Camaro. I believe that that block is to be shared with the LS9 but despite continuous effort I can't get a part #. It has to be out there as LS9s are being built and Camaro motors must be built by now.
There are many items that are in the new 09 GMPP catalog that are of "unknown " avaialability.
Obviously there is something not going on.

I found out the same status on all the new LS series valve covers in the '09 GMPP catalog. No one has been contracted to manufacture them yet, so no availability status. With their economic condition, I'm sure this kind of stuff is the lowest in the pile.

It will be close to a year until the LS9 block is available.
