Like to go after the new LS7 Z06. Is it true that the first run (until Dec-Jan) will only be avaliable to current Z06 owners?

NO that is false..the car wil be available to anyone who steps up with the $$$$$$$$.$$ The LS 7 crate engines will be available on a limited basis too but owning a current Z06 is not a prerequisit for purchase. If you want one give me a call. I run the internet dept. at one of the top three Corvette dealers in the country. We sell 50 new Corvettes a month. I can get you one in a timely manner. I have 7 coming the first month of production. Production starts on the 25th of July.

Seriously, have some patience... look how long the old small block was around... it was phased out (sort of) in the early '90s ('92 for the 'Vette, '93 for the F-car) to make way for the LT1 (in the performance cars, anyhow; the basic old small block carried on in the trucks with a few relatively minor changes until the '98 model year), which was really only a stopgap until the LS1 became available in '97 (for the 'Vette). The LS1 is being phased out in favor of the LS2, and the LS7 hasn't even hit the streets yet, so I don't really think that it's time for retirement yet.
IMO, GM has a lot more to work on than the motors... the motors really are world-class... now if they could just "fix" the interiors to get all the haters to shut the frigging traps, they'd be just fine.

gen IV will be standard for a while. I'd expect DOD here soon.
