Just got my LS7 crate!

Well, I didn't just get it; I picked it up yesterday. I finally got it all uncrated and on to the engine stand today. I'm so happy just to have it at the house. I can't wait to hear this thing run. Unfortunately, that is a ways away from happening.

If you're curious about the weight, Fedex said that the whole weight of the crated engine was 528. I weighed all the packing crating materials at 84 lbs., so that leaves a weight for the engine as delievered at 444. That includes water pump, coils, y body engine mount brackets, Z06 exhaust manifolds and clutch/flywheel. I had to take off the flywheel/clutch assembly to put it on the stand, and that weighed in at 57 lbs.

Here's a few pics of the new arrival:

It's new home, a '68 Camaro, is in the background of this one. Yeah I know it doesn't look like much now and it's being used for storage, but hey it'll look a lot better in the not too distant future.

Woodcox knows how to get the job done he doesn't dick around. :jest: On a serious note what are people doing about the wiring harness?I here you have not to just run the motor harness but the dash harness to.I think it has some thing to do with the throttle body and relucter ring on the crank.

FatZ28 10-23-2005 02:28 PM

Looks sweet!

Are you going to use those manifolds? If not I have a use for them, let me know! I assume they are tubular SS with a heat shield over them? :)

Zymosis 10-23-2005 03:04 PM

:hump:

Very sexy. If I only had money.....but if I had money I'd probably be buying more than the engine.
