Does this mean that you have verified that LS1 knock sensors work in the LS2 block? They properly pick up the knock signal in the new location?

A lot of people have speculated that LS1 knock sensors in the LS2 block won't work as intended.

Oh, it just occurred to me that if this is designed to allow an LS2/LS7 in an LS1 car, then you must also be assuming the computer is being swapped otherwise the Crank signal wouldn't be handled right.

Yes, the LS1 knock sensors will work in the side of the block.

You could swap the reluctor.

Got it, swap the reluctor, screw in the LS1 knock sensors, use these harnesses and you've got the job done.

Well, really you need to rebalance after the reluctor swap, and then you might as well throw pistons in it (Katech 12:1 LS7 jobs) and then balance it. Oh, and a GMPP cam (Stage 2 or 3 sound nice).

Really? Why would a symmetrical reluctor result in balance problems?

I heard that if you do it right you don't need to re-balance the crank.. hmmm

I thought the LS2 knock sensors could be programed to work with the LS1 ECM. Or am I wrong?

Jason, you know I love you guys, but you seriously have to shrink that cable up to the connector to protect those bare wires.

Well, the reluctors look different too me. Better safe than sorry at 7000rpm IMO.

We could do a Raychem harness, but I doubt you guys would want to spend $100 or more on these harnesses.

Jason, you could do a Raychem harness and I am sure people would buy it, but it would only cost an extra $.10 cents to do it correctly and make it look more professional. C'mon, Katech is know for it's attention to detail!

Thanks for the feedback. I'll take that into consideration and see if it's possible. Katech does not actually assemble these adapters in-house. We have a company that does it for us.

Hey guys, this is my first post.I am trying to gather info on the LS7 crate motor. I have a 03 zo6 that has been a track car since it had 4 miles on the clock and now has 18000, all on the track. I have done alot of mods from engine, trans, brakes, the list is long. The engines days are numbered. I have been toying with the idea of droping the LS7 into my car. I have priced built 383s,402s,and 427s and from what i am seeing the crate engine is the way to go. My concern is the reluctor wheel.Isnt the wheel actually part of the crankshaft? Could someone help me with this issue.I would like to be able to use my same computer for simplicity. Thanks, David Leonard.
