Q's for engine builders My 402 ls2 made 578rwtq at 3500 and drop from that to 350 at 7000 so I have a decrese in torque through my rpm range and 468 rwhp at 7000 with a gain through the range. When I installed the cam I didnt dgree it just put it in. My question is do you think it is worth any more hps and torque to go through and degree it? And I still have stock rockers, How much more could I pick up swapping to rollers? Any more help with this subject would be great. Thanks Jon |
44 people lookin but no help? Need some advice please |
Degreeing the cam is always worth a little power if you can get it dialed in just right. we have seen as much as 15hp from full roller rockers. Nate |
Ok, are you running hte cam in your sig, or is that on it's way? If you are running that cam, you may be able to pick up a little top end power without hurting the lowend too much by degreeeing it in at 107, but I don't think it is going to be much. They have that cam a 1/2 degree retarded from the get go, so you may be able to go the other way a half degree and take a little torque away for some ponies. What I really see out of your dyno run is that you need more airflow, period. You probably have a rather small port head and that is really picking up your lowspeed, but it doesn't look like it has enough airflow to handle the extended RPM. You will have to be carefull installing roller rockers. With those cam specs, you may induce more problems with valve float at higher rpms than it would be worth in hp gained. |
Thanks Yes That Is The Cam In My Motor Right Now |
