Yes, I agree about matching your cyl heads/cubes to cam selection. I could have made a more peak power, but you dont need a huge cam to make power even with a stroker..... Bigger isnt always better. Your comment that a 232/238 is to small for a stroker is wrong. That cam and some properly matched components can outpower and have a better Avg TQ and HP then some of the bigger cams mentioned in this thread.

I was thinking more along the lines of "Under the Curve" power levels and being easier to tune for daily use.
A 232/238 cam that has .609" lift when paired with a set of heads that flow in the 300 to 330 cfm range at .600" lift should work well for a 402 to 408.
And yes it is a small cam for a max power 408 but for a daily driver it would be easier on the driveline and easier to tune -vs- the large sticks that most people list up.
Now if he was going to use the L92 type heads I'ld suggest something along the lines of a 232/244 113 lsa. Which would give him good daily driving and buttloads of torque.
Also the LS1 Voodoo line is similar to the COMP XER lobes on the Quick ramp up but has a smoother closing action (per Lunati anyway). Basicly they are suppose to open really quick but close at a slower smoother rate for less valvetrain noise.
Just don't pair a Voodoo cam with the Comp Pro Magnum Roller Rockers as it's a noisy combination!

Jeff.... are you going to change cams? What are the specs including valve timing events on the current cam, such as ICL numbers etc....... I want to compare it with the cam I selected.
