Default Patriot extremes on l92 heads

Im having a problem with putting patriot extreme .660 valve springs on my l92 heads. The stock seat and seal is a 1 piece design that expands larger twords the base. The inner spring on the patriors is too small to go over the expanded part so it sits on top, putting it a few millimeters above the base.
Shown here http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...8/DSCF1796.jpg

The seats and seals that come with the patriot kit are too small to fit over the factory l92 guides http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...8/DSCF1801.jpg
so im forced to use the stock pieces for now.

The inner spring on the patriots is a few millimeters smaller than the outter spring. So will it raise the spring pressure too much to run the inner spring sitting a few millimeters above the base, or are there any aftermarket seals that will work with these heads?

youre being a little paranoid. as long as it seals that part of the valvetrain off it doesnt need to be flush with the head. i just finished assembling mine and everything is kosher. goodluck

Well what about spring pressure, having it sit up about an 1/8th inch wont it cause it to coil bind, or pull the rocker perch out? I had that problem with a different head http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...06/swap026.jpg just want to make sure i dont have it happen again.

You cant use stock seat seal! I have standard Patriout DS
fits fine on L92 I dont understand why Extrems would be wrong size?

how in the hell? ive never seen or heard of that one. theres an issue period if the spring is touching the new seals but it shouldnt be. if youre binding springs with it running there are other issues if the springs are rated to take the cam youre using. if you want some peace of mind, check out ls1howto.com about the cam swap stuff. my dad is running the original gold kit in his SS with the seals sitting the way i described with no issues.

Give us a call, you need to use the seals and bases that were sent with our kit. We have not heard nor seen a OEM GM guide that was too large for our machined base or seal.

He is using your seals and bases. But the seals you provide to not fit over the valve guides. As I just tried it myself and it doesnt go over the valve guide. (I guess I could force it but it would mess up the seal i think
