402's This is just out of curiosity, but I was wondering how many of you with alum 402's still have the stock sleeves still in them? I thought that even with a 4" stroke the stock sleeves don't provide enough support and the piston tends to rock a bit at BDC. Also don't you need a different piston design because they are pulled out a bit further at the bottom? If I'm going to build a 402 stroker I want it to last 60-70k with no more oil issues than any other engine of that mileage. I'm kinda nervous about ordering a short/long block from a company and having it burn oil. If I am going to drop almost $10k it better be on a quality product and be exactly what I want... minimal supprises down the road. I realize I could solve this problem with an Iron 408, but I don't want the weight up front (80lbs or so yes??) |
