well most people dont go for all out performance, myslef for example i bought a 231/235 cam and plan on putting patriot stage 2 heads and looking for around 450 at the wheels, if i were to put a fast on it i could probably make north of 450 with no problem and it will be a very driveable mid 11 second setup (conservatively) if i were to put a large cam in sure i could make 450 with just cam and intake but then it would be much of a daily driver anymore

The cam that he used was a 228/232 duration. I have 2 friends that used the MTI cam that is 228/232 113LSA and one has 425 rwhp and the other has 433rwhp on stock heads/stock compression. Neither has the FAST manifold yet. All of these cars are the C6 corvette with a 6 liter. I dont know what makes you think it was a huge cam. Your cam is bigger. Andy at A&A made 450 with a 232 cam so you should be in the ball park. My point wasn't to push huge cams but to show you that 450rwhp didnt require the addition of 1600-1700 in the form of L92 heads.....or any ported head for that matter.

Good luck with the install. Please post the results.

those are definately impressive dyno numbers for such a mild cam. comparing similar cams from the GTO board most guys make around 425-430 on an ls2 M6. I have seen one guy recently put an HPE S2 cam in with a fast and made 460 on the stock heads, so sure 450+ is possible cam only. i was just saying the normal (from my experience) is around the 430 mark. like i origionaly said it comes down to the power goals and putting together a package that suits that particular drivers needs. if someone were looking for 500+ WHP and planned on going 408+CI id always choose L92's over ported LS6 style heads, if someone with a stock cube LS2 were looking for lets say 450-490 i'd say you could get there alot cheaper with just ported 243's. i get what your saying about not needing a large cam, but the origional question was L92's over ported 243's. i was just averaging power numbers that i had seen on the GTO boards to make my point.

I'll definately post my results as soon as i get the car on a dyno, though i'll most likely have a timeslip way before i have a dyno graph
