Thumbs up Little 427 LSX update.

well, i put it all together a while back, wasnt super happy with everything, cam was a tad to small for the 427, gearing was off car still went a 10.4 NA.

changed to a solid roller much better cam, and still went a 10.4 but it just wouldnt rev up right with the long gears and fast inteke.

so swapped to a edlbrock intake and found my AFR head was cracked so havent raced in a while.
got it welded up, threw a 4.30 gear in it, and speed dens tune, and she ripped good.
first pass off the trailer with a spray tune up (rich, and lower timming) went 10.1 on motor
then hit it with a 100 shot and went 9.42
anyway, seems like she is now working good. converter is a tad off do to all my changes, but this winter i will send it back and have it changed up.
pretty happy with it now.

just an update for those who car. seems to be working well.

10 flats NA with a gas tune is outstanding. She will run 9's NA if tuned for NA. Did you go much bigger with the solid over the hyd cam?

Did you end up using the oil restrictors that I faxed you the info on? In other words was a solid a direct replacement for the Hydro cam?

Did you end up heat treating the heads or just letting it eat? Your car flew with a 100 shot, a 200 would be very nice. My car is getting done slowly but surely, for me the actual build is probably better than the racing.

onequick, i did not do any ristrictors i just let it be, it seems to be fine tho just a little extra oil on the top which wont hurt.

phil, i did not touch it just welded it up. im hoping to just get the rest of the season out of it.
good deal on yours, good luck.
