LS ENGINE CONNECTING ROD BOLT FROM KATECH PERFORMANCE PROMOTES DURABILITY

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Katech Performance knows the first step to enhancing the durability of production LS engines is to upgrade the connecting rod bolts. Compatible with the LS1, LS2, LS6 and LS7, Katech’s new replacement connecting rod bolt is a simple and cost effective form of insurance against failure.

Held to the highest J-rolled thread specification, the bolt offers ultra-high yield strength (240 ksi) and is produced exclusively for Katech Performance by a certified aerospace fastener manufacturer. “Our bolt allows for greater clamp force and reliability at high rpm,” said Caleb Newman, vice president, director of aftermarket operations, Katech Performance. “We introduced the first high-strength LS replacement rod bolt in 2000 and our latest design works across all Gen III and Gen IV applications.”

The Katech Performance bolt is a direct replacement for the factory bolt in powder metal or titanium connecting rods. In LS7 blocks, no clearance machining is required, thanks to the bolt head’s shorter length.

Do these fit all LSx rods or just the LS7? The description leads me to believe all. Thanks!

It's nice someone's finally made a fully compatable LS7 rod bolt. You also mentioned they are cheaper. How does the price compare to the old ones?

So for a 1999 LS1, with 40K miles you can just drop the oil pan and install your rod bolts without doing and machining or resizing ?

No machining or resizing. We do not have an installation guide. Torque instructions are on our website.

I am going to do these, they sound great! Anyone want to post pics/experience doing it to give people an idea? Any one had issues? Compliments?

I did a Katech rod bolt swap six years ago ( the first Katech rod bolts ) and set the limiter to 7K. I sold the engine a couple years ago but it STILL runs strong as ever and hits the limiter daily. Second set of valve springs but the bottom end is bone stock aside from the Katech bolts. About 140k miles on it now and it was at 72k miles iirc when I swapped em in. Great product imo Im not gentle on my stuff. Six speed as well fwiw
