Ls9 Rod Length?

What is it? I read somewhere that it is 6.00".

Is this true?

Bump.

yeah. same as all LS based motors. but why you want to know. don't buy those rods. they suck. only rated to like 7,000 rpm. that is why the rev limit is 6,200

Not sure how you can say they suck? And where'd you get the rpm rating from?

They are 6.00" long (shorter than standard LS rods), Titanium just like LS7, have a larger diameter pin and are used in a production engine that's rated near 650hp.

if you dosome research. GM only rates them to X amount or rpm. it aint like the LS7 rods. and they are the same lenght. all the ls9 is is a supercharged LS3. they just dropped compression. same stroke. same bore. same rod lenght.

Completely different materials, completely forged bottom end. So in other words, the only thing the same as the ls3 is the bore and stroke and BASIC head design. I would have no problems running these rods up to as much boost as the tvs2300 can put out. Which is around 900 BHP...

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the LS9 rods are completely different than the LS3 rods., and are very similar to LS7 Rods

Titanium vs. steel
.984 wrist pin dia. vs. .944 dia.
6.00" lg. vs. 6.10" lg.
Scalloped small end like LS7 vs. non-scalloped

yea those rods look like they suck alright :eyes:

hey. i never once said horse rating. i said RPM. lets do apples to apples. titanium strong at high rpm weak at high horse(info form MTI they have broke a LS7 rod with like 750 horse.) forged strong and strong at highg hosre. you will have less money in, well lets say oliver forged rods then the ls9 titanium rods.
