Default 6.0l engine best build up

If anyone has any info they would like to share. I have a 6.0 l engine out of a 04 2500 g van. it has dished pistons and the head casting is 317. Are these the better heads used the denali truck motors? Using the engine in a 67 camaro. I want something mild aroung 400hp or so. What are my best options. There are so many I am on a budget. It needs a rebuild. Looks like the piston rings got stuck in the grooves. Converter issue. No bearing damage or scoring to the block. Have a 6.0l intake and injectors.

those heads are great if your boosting. If your planning n/a youll need a really big cam to get 400 rwhp. My advise (take it or leave it) get some ported 5.3 heads from a supporting vendor. Your comp ratio is only 9.5 to 1 now because of the dished piston. Ls1's have flat tops to boost compression. You are going to have a hard time getting 400 rwhp w/o heads and cam.

Those heads should net you 10.25 to 1 if you go w/ flat tops.
From your post count it appears you are new to the lsx community (if not i apologize) you should really do a lot of research or youll end up spending way too much money. Do it right the first time it is always cheaper that way.

Hope I helped.
Doug
