What kind of gains going from a 8.25 dcr to 8.66

Default What kind of gains going from a 8.25 dcr to 8.66

Im thinking of swaping my head gaskets on my ls2 to raise my dcr. Would it be worth doing ? What kind of gains would i see

None that you would ever be able to notice. Maybe a .3 of a hp. That is not enough change to merit doing imo.

I've done it recently. I don't think I had any gain at all.

The car "Feels" a little stronger, but according to the dyno I lost a few since the last time.....possibly attributable to weather, but........

I do have a little less KR though, due to the better quench, so it wasn't a total loss.

change your gaskets to get a better quench have your heads milled for a better scr and dcr.

Something to consider on initial installation of the heads, but not worth the effort for only a gasket swap. If you ever pull the heads again for another reason that might be a good time to do it.
